Today’s beatdown is inspired by the upcoming President’s Day holiday and the 60-yr cycle of the Chinese calendar which we didn’t finish last time.

THANG: Same set of exercises from the Year-of-the-Rabbit beatdown: 12 exercises inspired by each animal of the Chinese zodiac with 5 variations for each element for a total of 60 unique exercises. The order of exercises this time was chosen by the President’s Chinese zodiac sign based on his birthday, starting with Washington born in 1732. Initially 20 reps each but modified to 10 reps towards the end to get to all 46 Presidents.

Interesting facts:
1) Mouse was the 1st animal to win the Jade Emperor’s race, by catching a ride on the Ox and jumping to the finish line. Washington, our 1st President, was born in the year of the Mouse.
2) This being the year of the Rabbit, there are 3 Presidents born in the Year of the Rabbit.
3) Woodrow Wilson and YHC are both born in The Year of the Fire Dragon (1856 and 1976). Another famous Dragon is Abraham Lincoln!
4) The Lunar New Year happens in either January or February. To determine what zodiac animal one is, you have to find out when one’s birthday falls relative to the LNY. If before, your animal is the one from the previous year. Five Presidents’ birthdays fell before that year’s Lunar New Year:
